HOW CAN A MOVEMENT COACH SUPORT AN ACTOR TO MAINTAIN THE NATURALISM OF IMPULSE AND INTENTION WHEN DISCOVERING A CHARACTER'S PHYSICALITY?

Emily has done a sustained practice as research study exploring how actors embody and communicate naturalistic movement over screen. Supported by neuroscience and non verbal communication theories, the research examines the process of unconscious human behaviour when expressing body language. Emily examined how an actor follows minimalistic physical impulses to communicate emotion as she investigated how movement can help the actor find a balance between the instinctive and the calculated. Taking a closer look at how the motion factor of Space as a partner and the action of breath are a physical manifestation of emotion. With influence from actor movement training methods the research unpicked the level of awareness an actor consciously needs to discover, embody and repeatedly perform naturalistic character physicality.
